I have always been keen on scarves, but since my recent visit to Paris I have been frequenting the scarf look more than usual. I bought a bunch before my trip and love the way they add character and that extra something to my look. I would also like to point out these amazing high waisted wide leg pants. They have both the makings of my little fashion heart; stripes & a high waist. I tucked a black cami to match my shoes, and paired a blue and white scarf to match the pants. One of my favourite looks of the summer so far!

Growing up in the 90s-2000s, I can definitely attest to the fact that my mother indeed, wore mom jeans like these. I love that these jeans are back on trend, with their relaxed nature and the fact that they are high-waisted which is my favourite feature in a jean. What’s even better about the mom-jean-trend, is that it is incredibly easy to style. You can tuck anything into them like a sleek cami, white-tee, or body-suit. You can even pair them with a crop, throw on a pair of sneakers and you have a very sleek, relaxed and on trend look!

Little Black Dress

There is so much to be said about a great little black dress. It’s versatile, can be on heavy rotation, you can work layers into it, and it can be the mediator of a statement shoe or bag.  Or simply, the little black dress can be the focal point of interest. It is a dependable wardrobe staple that everyone should have. Pictured I am wearing my LBD as the simple focus, and I paired it with a suede bootie. It is an overall-put-together-look, and with a slicked ponytail, you can’t go wrong in showcasing a simple yet sophisticated look.

A Writers Craft IIII

I am here with some more of my favourite excerpts in literature. I am going to post a few tonight; I am feeling exceptionally deep..

“Years of love have been forgot, in the hatred of a minute.” – Edgar Allan Poe

“I read once that the ancient Egyptians had fifty words for sand, and the Eskimos had a hundred words for snow. I wish I had a thousand words for love, but all that comes to mind is the way you move against me while you sleep..& there are no words for that.”

“I feel that there is nothing more truly artistic then to love people.” – Van Gogh

“The best people possess a feeling for beauty. The courage to take risks. The discipline to tell the truth. The capacity for sacrifice. Ironically, their virtues make them vulnerable; they are often wounded. Sometimes destroyed.” – Ernest Hemingway

“A great man is always wiling to be little.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald

Until next time,

It has always been a dream of mine to go to New York City in the fall for my birthday, and for me this year that came true! I am so blessed to have such an amazing best friend who surprised me with the trip which couldn’t have come at a better time, considering I really needed a reason to get away for a little bit. I am excited to share with you guys some pictures from the trip, including what I wore while roaming around my favourite city.

It felt really good to leave everything behind, even just for a few days. It is important to clear your head, take time for yourself and kind of discover who you are, what you want and where you are headed. Life can get pretty crazy and rough, so if it is going to take a quick weekend away to help sort yourself out, do it. Everyone needs a break sometimes.

A Writer’s Craft

Hi guys. As reality hits and I realize that for the first time in my life I will not be going to school in September, I began to reminisce about the good ol’ days while being in school. As much as most people really hate being in school while you’re in it, I would literally give anything to go back in time and start over. I really did love being in school for it gave me purpose, routine, and honestly, a social life. When you graduate and school ends forever it usually means it is time to embark on that long-awaited job hunt. It’s crazy how while you’re in school you think it is going to be so easy to find a job, I mean hey, you just invested 4-5 years of your life getting an education, interning and volunteering, who wouldn’t hire you?! Well, now that reality is hitting, and it isn’t what you thought. Although, it is said that nothing does come easy, so when it does, I am sure it will be worth it, or at least I am hoping.

Anywho, I got to thinking about the writers craft class I took in grade 12, where my teacher at the beginning of the semester made us all go out and buy a journal so that throughout the semester we can use it to write things down. Our thoughts, opinions, poems, quotes, lyrics, whatever made us tick at the time, and to simply write down things we believed in, and then share them with the class voluntarily. Since that day, I have been working on my journal and writing down all of my favourite quotes/poems/lyrics, etc. It has kind of become my best kept secret and most prized possession. I want it to capture everything that I was feeling back in grade 12, and everyday since then until right now. I haven’t finished it and I don’t plan to ever stop contributing to it, but I think it is time to share some of my greatest lessons to the world and I would like to post an insert from it on my blog from time to time, and maybe instil some inspiration to someone out there. I will start from the beginning of it and go page by page. I think it would be cool to see the progression as the years went on.

The first thing I wrote down, other than my name 100 times on the first page, was this:

“Sometimes you have to be a part from people you love, but that doesn’t mean you love them any less, sometimes it even makes you love them more,”

Until next time,
