One of my favourite things to do with a look is to play with tones. Mixing neutrals with a touch of colour tends to intimidate people but realistically, playing with tones is an infallible way of creating a really unique or cool look. For me, navy is my black, and I never go wrong with a navy+neutral or navy+color combo.
